FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Dynamark Bringing Safety to the CampusSurveillance Software Reducing Campus Trouble08/29/2005 MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Union Avenue campus of Southwest Tennessee Community College is a lot safer these days. The reason – Dynamark Security’s video surveillance system. Last year, the Blountville, Tenn.-based security company strategically placed 105 cameras in key locations throughout the Memphis, Tenn., campus to help the college enhance its safety measures. The cameras were installed in parking lots, hallways, student lounge areas, the supply warehouse and delivery area, gymnasium and daycare center as part of a new IP-based security system designed to reduce crime. The $275,000 project has already decreased vandalism, office theft, auto burglary and computer thefts through a centralized command center that can customize the monitoring of any combination of surveillance areas. This technology gives the security department the flexibility to adjust real time monitoring based on hot spots. Or, all 105 monitored locations may be viewed at the same time, resulting in increased efficiency and effectiveness of police resources. In addition, the system records all images and retrieving video can be done with the click of a mouse and entering a time frame. STCC Police Chief Leo Brown is quick to praise the benefits of the video surveillance system. According to Brown, Dynamark worked extensively with campus police to ensure each officer was properly trained on how to operate the system. Total installation of the system, including training, was completed in less than four weeks. “Since putting the system in last summer, we have seen a drastic drop in crime and can report that the surveillance is a huge deterrent,” Brown said. “This saves a lot of money that the school can use to improve the educational environment. I couldn’t put a price tag on this system – it’s just invaluable to us in our work to serve and protect our campus.” Brown operates a force of 42 officers at STCC’s seven campus locations throughout Memphis. The school is scheduled to add 87 more cameras at its Macon campus, and additional STCC locations are expected to receive the security system. David Cassell, president of Dynamark, conducted a risk assessment to determine the appropriate technology needed to help STCC address its safety precautions. The assessment is part of Dynamark’s holistic approach to security, says Larry Brown, vice president of marketing and business development for Dynamark. “Dynamark’s services range from strategic planning and physical asset protection advice to security systems design, installation and contract management,” Brown said. “Security is more than just an equipment issue. To maximize the safety of an environment, it’s imperative to analyze security exposure in that environment and assess the risks and make recommendations that result in fewer losses. Most importantly, we offer the same level of service to all our customers from the very small to the very large and from residential to commercial.” Dynamark Security Inc., founded in 1990, is a licensed integrated security provider offering custom design and installation of security solutions throughout Tennessee and Virginia. Dynamark is centrally located in Blountville, Tenn., and our affiliate company, Digital Fortress Security Inc., which specializes in IP and wireless networks integration for the security industry, has an office in Collierville, Tenn.
